Recycling exhibition GIVE A NEW LIFE
The exhibition of recycling GIVE A NEW LIFE takes place at the Museum of New Art for the twelfth time already, this time the sub-theme is ROOTS.
As far as we know our ancestors, their skills and knowledge, that far we are able to travel with our skills and memories.
We all carry their heritage, even subconsciously.
Roots also feed us and give new ideas and knowledge.
Roots may sometimes be entwined with the others and that symbiosis gives birth to something really powerful and new.
The artists participating in the exhibition have been seriously inspired by the sub-theme. So, you can see Christmas crowns made of old books, a painting made of a lid of a chest, mandalas and folk patterns of bottle caps, jewelry of coffee grounds and a lot more. Special attention has been paid to climate change, while lacking snow and ice, a new usage is found for sledge and skates.
Many artworks are made of production waste or leftovers of handicraft.

In parallel with the exhibition there are also workshops where thrilling recycling techniques are introduced and taught.
We hope that the visitors of the exhibition can find fresh ideas and inspiration to restrain overconsumption, as well as good ideas to use old things in a new key!
The exhibition is on from December, 13, 2024 to March, 2, 2025
at the Museum of New Art, Rüütli 40a, Pärnu.
