THE CLEANERS

In France, there is still an old custom that when a farmer has harvested his vineyard or grain field, anyone can come to the after-harvest. In 2001, the grand old lady of the film world, Agnes Varda, won the Estonian People's Award at the Pärnu Film Festival with a documentary that collected unused footage from her own earlier films. This is also the approach of the authors of the exhibition "The Cleaners", who look back on their 80-year life journey. They all received wings to fly high from the Pärnu Koidula School.
Karin Tislar (nee Ahtmann) collected several dozen tapestry rugs and textiles.
Jüri Talvet also sent his several poetry collections and linguistic books to the exhibition.
Mark Soosaar revives forgotten films about the city of Pärnu – "Golden Chariot" (1970) and "Nikolai Street" (2001). For the first time, the filmmaker is exhibiting paintings he created as a toddler and student.

The message of the after-pickers to Estonian art lovers calls on them to start their creative path as young as possible. Only then will it be possible to jump over the international bar and not crawl under it.
The exhibition "Cleaners" will run at the Museum of New Art until April 19.

The exhibition compiled and designed with the help of
Kersti Uibo, Kristel Kallau, Margus Tomp, Marie Virta.
