Annual exhibition of the Textile Society of Estonia 2024

There is strengh and vigor in colours, individually as well as in combinations, all depends on collaboration and harmony. Bright and dimmed, intensive and subdued, the choice between opposites is always different. In harmony alone, they all together sometimes make a real hullabaloo! So, with the authors at the exhibition – opposition and strength of standing side by side reveal at the common exhibition. The Textile Society unites artists of very different positions and creative handwriting in the work of whose textile is the central material. As a tradition, the annual exhibition is an expected event for the participants as well as the audience. The exposition at the Museum of New Art brings out the laureates of the yearly awards – the Textile Artist of the Year 2023 is Aet Ollisaar, the Young Textile Artist 2023 is Maria Kristiin Peterson, the Textile Deed of the Year 2023 was won by Maryliis Teinfeldt-Grins with her community project “Who is the Last to Remember? Who can Remember Better?“ and the Special Prize of the Jury was given to Kadi Pajupuu for her long and consistent scientific work and development of textile art.

Participating artists are Reena Curphey, Ainikki Eiskop, Ehalill Halliste, Sigrid Huik, Mariann Kallas, Mari-Triin Kirs, Tiiu Laur, Maasike Maasik, Epp Mardi, Siiri Minka, Marin Nooni, Aet Ollisaar, Kadi Pajupuu, Ene Pars, Erika Pedak, Liis Pihlik, Marilyn Piirsalu, Ülle Raadik, Anu Raud, Tuuli Reinsoo, Merike Roodla, Ilme Rätsep, Ülle Saatmäe, Eve Selisaar, Zane Shumeiko, Malle-Maria Sild, Heleri Alexandra Sits, Anneli Säre, Ludmilla Swarczewskaja, Aune Taamal, Reet Talimaa, Liisi Tamm, Erika ja Taso Tammpere, Ilja Uhlinov, Piret Valk, Kerttu Varik, Kersti Villand.
