Exhibition of the Photo Artists’ Society of Pärnu

The eleventh exhibition of the Photo Artists’ Society of Pärnu F8 might have a conditional crossheading Exhibition of Architectural Photos. Conditional because usually ‘architectural’ is used rather for a documentary genre of photo where the photographer has reduced him/herself to depict architecture as realistically as possible. This exhibition has no such ambition. The photo artists of Pärnu have reflected the space and the buildings in the details and angles which architecture and artificial landscape can offer the photographer as artist. There is no data of the places neither authors of the buildings.
Due to that the exhibition is named Architectone. This is the notion brought into use by the Russian avant-garde artist Kazimir Malevitch and which Leonhard Lapin (whose best known architectones are in Pärnu in front of Kuldne Kodu) has described as decorative architecture without function. Similarly, we present architectural photo in its unusual function.
